Influenza Vaccines

Every person 6 months or older should be vaccinated for the influenza virus unless otherwise instructed by their physician.  Flu season peaks during the late fall and winter months. Individuals with chronic lung disease or weakened immune systems are especially susceptible to influenza and associated complications.

Medical conditions that put you for increased risk for complications from influenza include the following:

  • Neurological disorders
  • Chronic lung disease
  • Heart disease
  • Blood disorders
  • Diabetes
  • Kidney disease
  • Metabolic disorders
  • Cancer
  • Weakened immunity
  • Obesity
